Condemnation

Seibert and Dloski has previously acted as Special Attorneys General for the State of Michigan representing the Michigan Department of Transportation in condemnation actions for over twenty-five (25) years. The firm has negotiated settlements and litigated scores of condemnation cases throughout the State of Michigan for the Department of Transportation and numerous condemning authorities.

In addition to the duties attendant to the position of Special Attorneys General, the firm has instituted numerous condemnation actions on behalf of its municipal clients. Firm members have negotiated the conveyance of easements for sanitary, storm sewer and water systems. Where negotiations have proven unsuccessful, the firm has retained appraisers, worked closely with the municipalities' consulting engineers and planners to define the property required for acquisitions and filed, settled, or tried the condemnation actions on behalf of the municipality.
