Special Assessment Procedures

The firm regularly advises its municipal clients in connection with the establishment of special assessment districts for various public improvements including sewer systems, water systems, roads, road lighting systems and public parks. Seibert and Dloski drafts all necessary resolutions required by Act 188 of the Public Acts of 1954, as amended and assures that all public hearing and notice requirements are satisfied. This creation of special assessment districts for police and fire services is also an integral part of the firm's legal services. The firm's representation also includes defending challenges to special assessments before the Michigan Tax Tribunal and to the special assessment process in state court.
